Queen Nanasipau’u Tuku’aho of Tonga celebrates her 70th birthday

Queen Nanasipau'u Tuku'aho of Tonga celebrates her 70th birthday - Consulate General of the Kingdom of Tonga in Portugal Sintra – March 2024. The Consulate General of the Kingdom of Tonga to the Portuguese Republic extends its warmest congratulations to Her Majesty Queen Nanasipau’u Tuku’aho of Tonga on the occasion of her 70th Birthday.

Her Majesty is the wife of Tonga’s Head of State, His Majesty King Tupou VI. Her Majesty was born on 8 March 1954 and is the daughter of the late Baron Vaea Baron Vaea, a former prime minister of Tonga from 1991 to 2000, and the late Baroness Tuputupu Vaea. Her Majesty served as Crown Princess of Tonga between 2006 and 2012 before becoming Queen Consort on 18 March 2012 following the passing of His late Majesty King George V of Tonga.

The Queen of Tonga was married at the Chapel Royal, at the Royal Palace, in Nukuʻalofa on 11 December 1982 to HRH Prince ʻAhoʻeitu ʻUnuakiʻotonga Tukuʻaho who in 2012 ascended the Throne as King Tupou VI. The royal couple have three children and four grandchildren.
