Lisbon – May 2024. The Hon Consul General of the Kingdom of Tonga to Portugal, Mr Anthony Bailey, paid a courtesy visit on His Excellency Serge Wauthier, Ambassador of His Majesty The King of the Belgians to the Portuguese Republic since August 2022.
The Kingdom of Tonga and the Kingdom of Belgium established diplomatic relations on 16 August 1971.
Following the discussion the Hon Consul General attended a Investiture Ceremony at the Belgian Ambassador’s Residence during which the Secretary General of the City of Lisbon, Dr Alberto Laplaine Guimaraes, was decorated by the Ambassador as a Commander of the Order of Leopold by order of His Majesty King Philippe I of the Belgians.
