Antigua & Barbuda 30 May 2024. The Hon. Fekitamoeloa ‘Utoikamanu, Minister for Meteorology, Energy, Information, Disaster Management, Environment, Climate Change and Communication (MEIDECC), engaged in a bilateral meeting during the Small Island Developing States (SIDS 4)= conference with Nuno Sampaio, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and Head of the Delegation of Portugal.
The discussions encompassed the exploration of opportunities to enhance cooperation between Tonga and Portugal. Portugal affirmed its commitment to supporting Tonga through capacity-building programmes, the initiation of ocean governance, marine conservation, the blue economy, continental shelf and UN – Portugal Ocean Fellowship Programmes.
